West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced her party's candidate list for the 2016. Confirming that TMC will contest alone in all the 294 seats, she highlighted that number of women candidates has gone up from 31 to 45 and the number of minority candidates has also gone up from 37 to 57.

- Wi-Fi connectivity is going to be extended to the districts of Asansol, Burdwan, Durgapur, Malda, Siliguri, Dum Dum, Barrackpore, North 24 Parganas, Bolpur, Krishnanagar and others.
- A 2nd Indo-Bhutan gate is going to be erected near Jaigoan.
- Rapid Transport System to be started for bus services from Garia-Ultadanga.
