Sonarpur (Uttar) is a constituency of West Bengal Legislative Assembly. It is located in South 24 Parganas district. Sonarpur (Uttar) assembly constituency is part of Lok Sabha constituency No.22, which is Jadavpur. It is an unreserved constituency.
According to data collected by the Election Commission of India, Sonarpur (Uttar) has 1,97,582 voters out of which 1,02,432 are male and 95,150 female. Firdousi Begum of Trinamool Congress won this constituency in 2011 by a margin of 26,024 votes. She defeated Shyamal Naskar of CPI(M) by bagging 89,841 votes. Her opponent secured 63,817. The voter turnout was 82.38 %.
