Surma assembly constituency is in the Dhalai district of Tripura State. There are 44,678 voters in the constituency of which 40,099 voters voted in the last election making the voting to around 89.75%.
Ashis Das candidate belonging to BJP won the seat in last election defeating Anjan Das of Communist Party of India (Marxist) by 2,710 Votes.
In 2022 by-polls, Swapna Das of BJP won the Surma assembly constituency by defeating independent candidate Baburam Satnami by 4,583 votes.
