The Demographic Bifurcation of the constituency is 72.52% Hindus, 0.93% Muslims and 2.77% Christians.
Prem Kumar Reang candidate belonging to Indigenousn People's Front Of Tripura won the seat in last election defeating Rajendra Reang of Communist Party Of India (Marxist) by 4,131 Votes.
