There are 41,761 voters in the constituency of which 39,242 voters voted in the last election making the voting to around 93.97%. The Demographic Bifurcation of the constituency is 98.83% Hindus, 0.27% Muslims and 0.17% Christians.
Arun Chandra Bhaumik candidate belonging to Bharatiya Janata Party won the seat in last election defeating Basudev Majumder of Communist Party Of India (Marxist) by 753 Votes.
