There are 37,608 voters in the constituency of which 34,083 voters voted in the last election making the voting to around 90.63%. The Demographic Bifurcation of the constituency is 83.40% Hindus, 8.60% Muslims and 4.35% Christians.
Sindhu Chandra Jamatia candidate belonging to Indigenous People's Front Of Tripura won the seat in last election defeating Daniel Jamatia of Communist Party Of India (Marxist) by 4,947 Votes.
