Aravakurichi is constituency No. 134 of Tamil Nadu legislative assembly. It is situated in Karur district and comes under the Karur Lok Sabha constituency. It is an open constituency.
According to the Election Commission of India, this constituency has 1,70,483 registered voters. It comprises 84,205 male and 86,278 female registered voters.
In the 2011 Assembly elections, the DMK defeated AIADMK by a margin of just 4,541 votes to win this seat. Pallanishamy K.C., the winning DMK candidate, got 72,831 votes. Senthilnathan V., the AIADMK runner-up, got 68,290 votes. The voter turnout was 85.94 %.
