The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has declared its list of candidates on all 117 seats for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections 2017. Its alliance partner Lok Insaf Party, led by Bains Brothers, is contesting on five of the 117 seats. According to reports, party member Bhagwant Mann, who represents Sangrur constituency of Punjab in the Lok Sabha, is going to lead the Aam Aadmi Party's campaign committee in the state. Bhagwant Mann will contest from Jalalabad constituency.
A prominent face in AAP's list of candidates is H.S. Phoolka. He is a notable Supreme Court lawyer who propelled a campaign to get justice for the victims of 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Phoolka is contesting from Dakha constituency in Ludhiana. Himmat Singh Shergill will contest from SAS Nagar (Mohali). Both Phoolkha and Shergill had contested the Lok Sabha elections on AAP ticket but unsuccessfully. The party has fielded 71-year-old Sarabjit Kaur from Dera Bassi. Sarabjit Kaur is the wife of former finance minister in the Akali government Captain Kanwaljit Singh. A Congress rebel and daughter of a prominent Akali leader are among the candidates named in the Aam Aadmi Party's list.

AAP Dalit Manifesto for Punjab Assembly Polls 2017
The Aam Aadmi Party has released its Dalit manifesto for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections 2017. In the manifesto, it has promised housing for all Dalits, hike in grant for the wedding of a daughter and a special cell for implementation of Post Matric Scholarship Scheme. While addressing a gathering in the Dalit-majority Doaba region, Aam Aadmi Party national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal released the party's 19-point agenda and said that the upliftment of the Dalit community was necessary for the overall progress of Punjab. Kejriwal said that once voted to power, his party would take special care of the Dalit community in the state.
AAP promises to fight drugs in Punjab, offers sops to students, women in its election manifesto
Aam Aadmi Party has released its election manifesto in Punjab. The earlier party had released as many as six smaller versions. Releasing the manifesto Bhagwan Singh Mann promised to eradicate drugs from the state and that all the drug peddlers would be behind the bars by April 15.
In its manifesto AAP has promised to rehabilitate the drug addicts in six months and provide 25 lakh jobs and start AAP canteens that would provide food for Rs. 5. For women, AAP, if voted to power, would provide 33 percent reservations and postings in their home district. On the footsteps of Akhilesh Yadav, AAP too would also distribute laptops to students of class nine. Besides, Mohalla clinics would also be started like in Delhi. Punjab goes to polls on February 4.
