Ariankuppam is constituency No. 19 of Puducherry legislative assembly. It is situated in Pondicherry district. It is an open constituency. According to the Election Commission of India, Ariankuppam has 30,970 registered voters. It includes 15,017 male and 15,953 female registered voters. The AINRC won this seat in the 2011 Assembly elections. V. Sabapathy alias Kothandaraman, the winning AINRC candidate, got 13,381 votes. The runner-up, T. Djeamourthy of Congress, got 10,750 votes. The winning margin was 2,631, that is, 9.66% of the total valid votes. The voter turnout was 88.12 %.
