Shamator- Chessore assembly constituency is in the Tuensang district of Nagaland State. There are 17,363 voters in the constituency of which 14,975 voters voted in the last election making the voting to around 86.25%. The Demographic Bifurcation of the constituency is 98.88% Christians, 0.65% Muslims and 0.25% Buddhists. Toshi Wungtung candidate belonging to Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party won the seat in last election defeating R Tohanba of Naga Peoples Front by 307 Votes.
