Dimapur-I assembly constituency is in the Dimapur district of Nagaland State. There are 22,808 voters in the constituency of which 18,451 voters voted in the last election making the voting to around 80.89%. The Demographic Bifurcation of the constituency is 61.84% Christians, 28.75% Hindus and 8.24% Muslims.
H Tovihoto Ayemi candidate belonging to Bharatiya Janata Party won the seat in last election defeating Pukhavi Yepthomi of Naga Peoples Front by 6,600 Votes.
