Nagaland Legislative Assembly Constituencies

The state was allocated 46 seats in the first state assembly elections. Elections were held for 40 constituencies. Tuensang district was allocated 6 seats, to be filled by members chosen by its regional council. In the second assembly elections the number of constituencies was raised to 52. Finally in the third assembly election in 1974, the number of constituencies became 60, which is the current strength of the lower house of the state assembly. Out of 60 seats 59 are reserved for candidate belonging to the scheduled tribes.

Some of the Vidhan Sabha constituencies of the state are Dimapur 1, Dimapur 2, Northern Angami 1, Northern Angami 2, Peren, Western Angami, Impur, Ghaspani-I, Ghaspani-II, Kohima Town, Tseminyu, Pfutsero, Chizami, Chazouba, Phek, Alongtaki, Meluri, Pungro-Khipire, Thonoknyu, Noklak, Tobu, Noksen, Tamlu, Moka, Aboi, Mon Town, Tapi, Tizit, Wakching, Sanis, Tyui and Bhandari.
