Perumbavoor is constituency No. 74 of Kerala legislative assembly. This unreserved assembly seat is situated in Ernakulam district and belongs to Chalakudy Lok Sabha constituency. The Chalakudy Lok Sabha constituency was formed as per delimitation in 2008.
According to the Election Commission of India, Perumbavoor has 1,54,432 registered voters. It comprises 78,168 male and 76,264 female registered voters.
In the 2011 Assembly elections, the CPI(M) won this constituency by a narrow margin of 3,382 votes. Saju Paul, the winning candidate, got 59,628 votes. With 56,246 votes, Congress candidate Jaison Joseph was the nearest contender. The voter turnout was 81.42 %.
