Iqbal Ansari - Previous MLA from Gangawati (62)

Iqbal Ansari is the previous MLA from Gangawati. He was born 17th June 1963 in Gangavathi. His political journey began as a municipal councillor in 1989. He also served as Cabinet Minister for Labour and Medical Education & Minority Welfare in the twelfth legislative assembly.

In the 2018 Vidhan Sabha elections of Karnataka, he lost to Paranna Eshwarappa Munavalli of Bharatiya Janata Party by almost 7000 votes.
