About Madhupur Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency
A part of Godda parliamentary constituency, the assembly constituency of Madhupur is a part of Deoghar district. Hussain Ansari of JMM won the 2009 assembly elections by defeating Shiv Dutt Sharma of JVM with a huge margin. Ansari bagged 47880 votes as against Sharma's 27412 votes. The city had a population of 190,748, as per 2011 India census.
