About Pulwama Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency
Pulwana is a town in the district by the same name in Jammu and Kashmir. The town was earlier known as Panwangam. The town is reffered to as 'Anand of Kashmir' due to high production of milk here. As of 2001 India census, it had a population of 15,521. The assembly constituency of Pulwana is a part of Anantnag parliamentary constituency. Mohd Khalil Bandh of PDP won the 2008 assembly elections for the second consecutive time. He defeated Haji Sona Ullah Dar, an independent candidate with a huge margin. Bandh secured 10639 votes as against Dar's 4003 votes.
