About Nagrota Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency
Nagrota is a town in Jammu district of Jammu and Kashmir. The place is the first stop for Mata Vaishno Devi. As of 2011, it had a population of 19,998. The assembly constituency of Nagrota is a part of Jammu parliamentary constituency. The seat has been occupied by BJP. Jugal Kishore of BJP won the 2008 assembly elections for the second consecutive time. He defeated M.K Ajat Shatru Singh of JKNC. Kishore bagged 11141 votes as against Singh's 9521 votes.
