About Kishtwar Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency
Kishtwar is a municipality in the district by the same name in Jammu and Kashmir. The place was earlier known as Kashthavata. As of 2011 India census,it had a population of 34,982. The assembly constituency of Kishtwar is a part of Udhampur parliamentary constituency. The seat has been occupied by JKNC since 1987. Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo of JKNC won the 2008 assembly elections and is the present MLA. He defeated Sunil Kumar of BJP. Kichloo secured 19248 votes as against Kumar's 16783 votes.
