Nitin Gadkari is the current Minister of Road Transport and Highways
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is an apex organisation which work towards the formulation and administration of the rules, regulations and laws related to roads, national highways and transport system. The ministry works in order to increase and improve the mobility and efficiency of the road transport in India. The ministry is headed by the Minister of Road Transport and Highway and presently it is under the charge of Nitin Gadkari. Before Gadkari, it was headed by Oscar Fernandes who was the cabinet leader under the Indian National Congress (INC). Few past ministers to held the position are T.R. Babu, Rajesh Pilot and Kamal Nath.
