About Sandesh Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Sandesh is a legislative assembly constituency in Bihar and belongs to the Arrah Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency of the state. Sandesh is located in the Bhojpur district of Bihar. The Sandesh assembly segment is home to 2,40,141 people who are eligible to vote. Amongst the voters in the constituency, there are 1,30,172 men and 1,09,871 women. BJP's Sanjay Singh represents the Sandesh constituency in the state legislative assembly of Bihar. He accounted for 29,988 votes in the assembly elections that were held in the state in November 2010. He defeated an independent candidate Arun Kumar by a margin of 6,822 votes.

As per the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India in 2008, the Sandesh assembly segment comprises Koilwar (Nagar Panchayat), Sakaddi, Jokta, Kulharia, Jalpura, Dhandiha, Gopalpur, Bhadwar, Khangaon and Narbirpur gram panchayats of Koilwar community development block; Udwant Nagar community development block; and Sandesh community development block.
