RJD leader Shamim Ahmad is currently representing the Narkatia constituency in the Bihar legislative assembly. He had won the 2015 election of Bihar assembly. Narkatia is located in the Purvi Champaran district of Bihar and is a part of the Paschim Champaran Lok Sabha constituency.
Narkatia constituency has 2,56,915 voters according to the 2015 election. Shamim Ahmad won the previous election by a margin of 12.93% compared to the runner up. Sant Singh Kushwaha of BLSP emerged as a runner up by getting 19,982 votes less than the winner. Bihar Election 2020 is expected to take place in the month of October or November.
