About Nalanda Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency
Nalanda is a legislative assembly constituency, a Lok Sabha (parliamentary) segment and a district in the state of Bihar. Shrawon Kumar of JD (U) represents the Nalanda legislative assembly constituency in Bihar. He won the Nalanda seat with 58,067 votes in the 2010 assembly elections and defeated RJD's Arun Kumar, who accounted for 37,030 votes. A total of 2,70,659 people in the Nalanda assembly constituency are eligible to cast their votes under the universal adult suffrage. Amongst them, there are 1,43,307 men and 1,27,342 women.
According to the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India in 2008, the Nalanda assembly segment comprises Lodipur, Barnausa, Pathraura, Meyar, Nahub, Bhui, Goraur and Pilkhi gram panchayats of Rajgir community development block; Meghi Nagwan, Biyavani, Ranabigha, Maghra, Pachauri and Dumrawan gram panchayats of Bihar community development block; Ben community development block; and Noorsarai community development block.
