About Islampur Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency
Islampur is a legislative assembly segment in the Nalanda district of Bihar and is a part of the Nalanda Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency. The Islampur assembly segment consists of Ekangarsarai and Islampur community development blocks as recommended by the Delimitation Commission of India in 2008. A total of 2,58,811 people in the Islampur constituency are eligible to cast their votes, out of whom 1,37,998 are men and 1,20,802 are women.
Rajib Ranjan of JD (U) is the sitting MLA of Islampur who was elected as the representative of the constituency in the 2010 assembly elections. Ranjan got 56,332 votes in the elections and beat RJD's Virendra Gop, who managed to get 32,524 votes.
