A part of the Nawada Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency of Bihar, Gobindpur is a legislative assembly segment. It is located in the Nawada district of the state. A total of 2,90,669 people of the Gobindpur constituency were identified by the Election Commission of India as eligible voters in 2015, they comprise of 1,53,733 men and 1,36,923 were women.
Gobindpur is represented in the Bihar state legislative assembly by Purnima Yadav of Congress, who got 43,016 votes in the elections held in 2015. BJP�s Fula Devi was the runner-up who managed to get 38,617 votes. Only 48 % of voters had exercised their right to vote in Gobindpur constituency for the Bihar Assembly election 2015.
