About Chakai Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency
A legislative assembly constituency of Bihar, Chakai is a part of the Jamui (SC) Lok Sabha (parliamentary) segment of the state. The constituency is home to a total of 2,66,998 eligible voters, out of them 1,43,239 are men and 1,23,752 are women.
Savitri Devi of RJD currently represents the Chakai constituency in the Bihar Assembly. She won this seat in the Bihar Assembly election 2015 by 47,064 votes. Whereas Sumit Kumar Singh, an independent candidate, came as a runner up with 12,113 votes less. Sumit Kumar Singh had won this constituency in the 2010 election when he was a member of JMM.
