Congress leader Madan Mohar Tiwari is elected to the Bihar legislative assembly from Bettiah Vidhan Sabha constituency. He won the 2015 Bihar election by securing 66,786 votes while BJP’s Renu Devi got 2nd rank by gaining 64,466 votes. There was a difference of only 1.59% votes between the two.
The constituency is located in the Paschim Champaran district of Bihar and is a part of Paschim Champaran Lok Sabha Constituency. There are 2,49,093 eligible voters in the Bettiah constituency. The 2015 runner up Renu Devi was elected in Bettiah from 2000 to 2010. That is for 3 consecutive terms. However, she lost the 2015 Bihar Election.
