North Shillong assembly constituency is in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya State. There are 26,725 voters in the constituency of which 18,576 voters voted in the last election making the voting to around 69.51%. The Demographic Bifurcation of the constituency is 46.49% Christians, 41.95% Hindus and 4.89% Muslims (Shillong Town). Adlbert Nongrum candidate belonging to Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement won the seat in last election defeating J Antonius Lyngdoh of Bharatiya Janata Party by 406 Votes.
