About Aheri Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency
Aheri is a town in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra. It is located on the banks of river Pranhita. As of 2011 India census, the city had a population of 116,992. The assembly constituency of Aheri belongs to Gadchiroli-Chimur parliamentary constituency.The constituency is reserved for the Scheduled Tribes. Atram Dipak Mallaji, an independent candidate won the 2009 assembly elections and is the present MLA. He defeated Atram Dharmarao of NCP. Mallaji bagged 61894 votes as against Dharmarao's 36697 votes.
