About Bani Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency
Bani is a tehsil in Kathua district of Jammu & Kashmir. The place is referred to as mini Kashmir of the district. The place has many waterfalls. The assembly constituency of Bani belongs to Udhampur parliamentary constituency. The basic facilities like electricity, water supply, health care and education are lacking in the constituency. Lal Chand of BJP won the 2008 assembly elections and is the present MLA. He defeated Ghulam Hyder Malik of JKNC. Chand bagged 11041 votes as against Malik's 8792 votes.
